Phobia disease and its different types

Phobia is the name of intense and irrational fear. In a phobia, people become unusually fearful of a particular environment, time, or object. People suffering from phobias are not able to get out of this situation despite knowing that their fear is unfounded. These fears are so severe that they paralyze a person.

. 1 Different types of phobias

Many types of phobias have emerged. According to experts, phobias can be of three types.

. 1 Agoraphobia

It is a state of being afraid of crowded places. Agora was the name of a marketplace in ancient Egypt. People with this phobia are afraid of crowded places. Their real fear is actually getting stuck in such places or not being able to get out in case of trouble. Such persons run away from a bridge or a bank queue. Women are more prone to it than men. If it is neglected and untreated, such people may even stop leaving the house altogether.

People with this phobia avoid meeting people and are afraid of too much interaction. This condition is much more severe than natural shyness. Such people feel intense anxiety and fear of going in front of people. They worry about whether they will be able to speak up to the occasion. Since this phobia can affect a person’s social and home life if left untreated, proper and timely treatment is important.

A phobia is an irrational fear of a particular object or situation. Some of its types are as follows.

The fear of closed spaces is called claustrophobia. People suffering from this fear experience severe anxiety when using elevators and tunnels.

. 2. Zoophobia

Fear of animals is called zoophobia. This is the most common type of specific phobia. Its types include fear of snakes, lizards, birds and bees. Usually, people become victims of such fear in childhood and suffer its effects throughout their life.

. 3 Astraphobia

The fear of thunderstorms is called astraphobia. This fear is found in animals as well as humans.

. 4 Acrophobia

The fear of high places and heights is called acrophobia. People suffering from this fear avoid climbing stairs.

. 5 Aerophobia

People suffering from this fear are afraid to travel by plane. This could be due to bad memories of a previous trip or being in an accident.

. 6. Blood, injection, injury phobia

This type of phobia includes hemophobia (fear of blood) and trypanophobia (fear of injections). In addition, people suffering from has phobia may also be afraid of injuries and operations.

This type includes physmophobia, the fear of giants and invisible creatures. Apart from this, the fear of bats is also included in this type of Chiroptophobia.

. 8 Amathophobia

Fear of vomiting is called emetophobia. Usually, this fear begins with being in a situation like this in childhood. Fear of vomiting after eating something.

. 9 Carcinophobia

Fear of cancer is called carcinophobia. People who suffer from this fear start to think that every disease symptom is a cancer disease.

Fear of new things and having trouble adjusting to them is called neophobia.

. 11. Gerontophobia

People with grontophobia are afraid of getting old. Even old people are afraid.

. 12 Odontoma phobia

People suffering from this phobia fear going to the dentist and often exacerbate the disease.
