Parental Smartphone Use and Its Impact on Child Development

Smartphone use impacts child communication

Mothers who spend more time on the phone and its negative effects on children

Texas: A new study finds that mothers who use smartphones more often communicate less with their children, which in turn affects the children’s ability to speak.

According to media reports, American researchers found that mothers communicate with their children 16 percent less when they spend more time on their phones than usual.

Lead researcher and doctoral student at the University of Texas, Mary Mickelson, said, “We advise new parents to be aware of the negative effects of the phone on their relationship with their children and to be careful in meeting their children’s needs promptly.” I also get in the way.

Maryam said that it is very important to have consistent and responsible care for infants which becomes more difficult when mothers spend more time on their phones.

Additionally, previous research has shown that excessive phone use by parents can affect a child’s ability to speak.
