If someone has difficulty in breathing, stomach or liver disease, we treat it immediately and give courage to the patient, but we do not start treatment due to the lack of awareness of the importance of mental health in mental illness. Rather, this person is considered to be delusional, incompetent, weak-willed and seeking attention and asked to remain silent. Why do we make such a distinction?

Almost all of us know people who suffer from mental illness in one form or another. Whether it is depression, anxiety, stress or schizophrenia, according to careful statistics, 35 percent of people in Pakistan suffer from anxiety and depression. All these diseases affect the same part of the brain. The brain is the most important part of our body. It is a complex component which is the most difficult task to understand and then find solutions to its problems. In the past centuries, mental patients were feared and kept in prison. In the 21st century, due to the great increase in technology, these diseases Treatment has become possible, but even today, only 40% of the affected people in Pakistan consult a psychiatrist, meaning 3 crore people suffer in silence.

The reason for this is the wrong trends related to mental illness in our society. There is no doubt that these ideas have changed a lot in today’s era, but even today mental illness is associated with human weakness or flaw, while it is Like any other illness, mental illness is one that the sufferer fights bravely and mostly alone.

Due to this negative thinking, the affected person has to face many social problems along with Kobimari like loss of job, tension in relationships and distance from friends etc. He hesitates to talk to others and does not dare to seek treatment. The only phrase in his mind is “what will people think”. Due to these factors, the disease is doubled. And a curable disease. It becomes untreatable and in extreme cases leads to suicide.

People suffering from mental illness should not pay attention to what people say because their words only represent their thoughts, they have nothing to do with you, so don’t let anyone’s opinion influence you. Realize the value and purpose of life and live your precious life for the sake of it. Take up positive activities, don’t stress your mind, give priority to treatment and take the first step to contact experts. Negative thinking and attitudes towards the disease have a major role in the phenomenal increase in the number of people suffering from mental illness over the years. In order to achieve a healthy society, we urgently need to increase our knowledge about mental health, critically. One should stay away and not make good manners one’s motto, one should mix with people and talk to them and try to solve their problems by paying attention to them. Moreover, the affected people should be encouraged and encouraged to seek treatment.
