As we move towards advanced technology, human engagements and priorities are changing drastically. While many inventions of the modern era have brought ease in human lives, their overuse has also caused negative effects. Computer, laptop, mobile phone has become an integral part of the life of every young and old. Thanks to the easy availability of various internet packages, everyone is fascinated by Google, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and selfies. People living under one roof are lost in the world of social media. About sixty-four percent of the total population of Pakistan consists of youths. Most of their days are wasted on mobile phone and internet activities and as a result the element of sports is disappearing from our lives and in fact the above mentioned. The problem has caused the most damage to the bliss of restful sleep.

We have to build sports fields. Sports and entertainment must be included in the daily routine. Proper walking and jogging improves the functions of human hormones and the person remains mentally and physically fit and enjoys a sweet sleep freed from mental confusion after physical fatigue.

Effects of Immoderation in Diet on Sleep:

Many people are used to eating dinner late and then go straight to bed. In addition, eating starchy, spicy and fatty chicken meat for dinner causes a feeling of heaviness in the stomach, which does not immediately lead to sleep. Consumption of nicotine, caffeine and cold drinks before going to bed can also cause sleepiness.

Immoderation in diet can be easily improved by preventive measures. Food should always be eaten at least two hours before going to bed. Poultry foods should not be avoided at dinner. A warm glass of milk before going to bed. Strengthens the nerves and aids in restful sleep by reducing nerve tension. Smoking, tea, coffee, and chemical drinks should be avoided. Because many ingredients in them, especially caffeine, alert the body’s nervous system, the effects of which last for several hours. By giving up intemperance, one can enjoy a restful sleep.

Effects of Intemperance on Sleep in Daily Matters:

It is the law of nature that ‘day is made for work and night is made for rest’. People who are addicted to sleepiness start their day routines early. Due to which their routines are completed on time. They are mentally and physically ready by going to bed early at night. While at times, people suffering from intemperance start their routines early in the day and against nature, they get used to staying up late at night and as a result of this intemperance, they suffer from various problems.

Effects on sleep due to other diseases:

Many other diseases affect sleep due to their cumulative effects. Stomach diseases, anemia, high blood pressure, headache, obesity, fever, and the problems caused by cancer also affect sleep. It is very important to control the twisting effects immediately otherwise they lead to further neurological and psychological complications.

A good and restful sleep is nothing less than a blessing from God. Today, almost every fifth to sixth person is suffering from this disorder. Since the beginning of the present century, the inventions of the modern age, especially the mobile and the Internet, have changed the routine of human life. Hours are passed by moving the fingers on the screen of the smart phone, which has disturbed all the routines of life including sleep. Today’s sleep-deprived man is losing the energy to change his future. These conditions lead him to drugs and sleeping pills. By adopting the above suggested preventive factors, this increasingly serious problem can be effectively controlled.
